Feminist Fork: Moving Up in the Restaurant Industry

In America, the restaurant industry is big. And I mean, really big. The industry includes approximately 10.3 million workers. But, many entry-level workers have trouble becoming managers and find it difficult to move up to a better position. Some say that this difficulty stems from racial and gender discrimination. This month, the Feminist Fork talks to the head of the Restaurant Opportunities Center United, a member of the National Restaurant Association, and two food service workers about minorities and women moving up in restaurants.
