This holiday season, people all across the country will be visiting family and forced to talk about their diets. And that means more than just talking about what you can and can’t eat. For many, it’s about claiming an identity that may or may not be embraced or even understood by their families. It’s a process of coming out that’s all too familiar to the LGBTQ community. This month on the Feminist Fork, Renee talks to Choya Webb, a twenty-one year old who “came out” as a non-meat eater during this past Thanksgiving and says the reaction from his family really wasn't that different from when he came out as gay many years before.
