OUR KICKSTARTER!
We've got a lot of exciting news to share from RENDER HQ. First, we've just launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise $30,000, and we need your support! The success of this campaign will allow us to relaunch and revamp RENDER: Feminist Food & Culture Quarterly, starting with Issue #5: HISTORY.
Our redesigned version of RENDER will feature 60 pages of interviews with badass women in the food industry and meaty, feature-length articles that dive into the nitty gritty of issues in the food industry that are often overlooked or ignored by popular food media.
This campaign for $30,000 will also help us to upgrade the RENDER website. We're looking to take our site from a blog to an online magazine, updated daily, so that feminist food journalism is always at your fingertips, and so that we can be your best resource for feminist food news.
Once we're funded, we'll also be able to start hosting more events, parties, classes, and, yes—we'll be able to bring back Feminist Food February (#FemFoodFeb), or something like it.
Last but not least, we'll be able to pay our writers, artists, and the RENDER team for all of their hard work, because what's social justice if you're not getting paid for the work you do?
Rewards for donors to the Kickstarter include copies of the magazine, as well as year-long print and digital subscriptions, stickers, mugs, tote bags, enamel pins, aprons, and tickets to our Issue #5 release dinner. The dinner will be held in Portland, OR, and will feature a selection of talented chefs and women in the food industry. Check out our Kickstarter and please, show us your support!
SUBSCRIPTIONS ARE NOW AVAILABLE!
We're finally offering one-year subscriptions to RENDER in our online store and through our Kickstarter campaign. Subscriptions are available in print and digital formats (digital subscriptions will become available when Issue #5 releases in June!). A one-year subscription includes four issues of RENDER.
RENDER WILL BE ATTENDING THE FOOD BOOK FAIR IN BROOKLYN, NY
RENDER is flying across the country to Brooklyn, NY for the 5th annual Food Book Fair on May 1st. We’ll be tabling at the Foodieodicals indie food magazine “festival-within-the-fair.” Tickets are available here, and they include a glass of wine or beer and snacks. We hope to see you there!
